• Led marketing, communications and community development team. Recruited and managed input and professional development of four full time employees. Coordinated input from three contractors.

• Increased new user signups by 127% and revenue from mailing list by 134% year on year.

• Developed networks with relevant contacts including Twitter HQ, Hay Festival and other major literary festivals, London Review of Books, major literary prizes, creative, media and branding agencies, literary blogs and campaigning charities including Time to Change.

• Launched author crowdfunding classes and developed training materials in early 2015 leading to an overall 62% decrease in average time to fund for crowdfunding projects.

• Advised and supported crowdfunding campaigns for authors including Raymond Briggs (Notes from the Sofa), Shaun Usher (Lists of Note, Letters of Note II), Rose Bretécher (Pure), Stuart Ashen (Terrible Old Games) and many others.

• Ran successful Women in Print campaign to increase submissions from female authors:

  • Before campaign only 33% of open submissions came from female authors.
  • Campaign succeeded in increasing submissions from female authors by 400%.

• Launched diversity initiative to encourage submissions from a wider array of authors, including BME writers, developing networks with individuals and organisations working to improve diversity in publishing.
