When I first joined Postmates, we were solely available on iOS. We focused on a single platform and delivered it extremely well. It’s only a matter of time that users started asking for a simple change. For someone who’s in an office setting, for example, who might not want to use their phone to order something. We built Postmates web application so those on non-iOS devices would have the same user experience. The main difference is that we ask user to enter their delivery address, in order to populate a list of stores nearby. This is something that’s not available on iOS, because user locations is always known. I designed a complete user flow for the desktop experience — from the initial delivery address entry, browsing nearby places, ordering, making payment, all the way to tracking their delivery.
