Wayfair Reporting & Analytics

Background: The newly formed BI Supply Chain team comes to you for support in building out some new reporting and analytic capabilities. The group wants to focus on helping the Supply Chain organization better understand how to affect the efficiency of our cross border transportation service for packages moving northbound into Canada for delivery. At Wayfair, we view network efficiency as a combination of reduction in our delivery costs per package as well as the speed and reliability with which we can deliver packages to customers. Deliverable: Your task is to review the tables associated to this data set, the user personas and use cases for our business users and to come up with a series of recommendations for the BI Supply Chain team:

1. Suggest a data architecture implementation to meet the varied needs of our user base and explain your choices.
2. Suggest some example tools or technology implementations for our use cases. What are the pros and cons of your recommendations? Are there specific use cases we should prioritize?
3. Suggest a high level design of the data model and data update design process to handle the data volumes. It is common for historical data on some of fact tables to change over time.
4. Suggest some monitoring that we should put into place for this system and explain why.
